EarthTrek will allow you to collect data close to your home, or even when you are on holidays.
EarthTrek is open to everyone* who has access to a GPS unit. You can participate if you have a PhD in science, or the last science you did was in 8th grade! You can be very young or very old. You can live anywhere on the planet. EarthTrek will also provide you opportunities to meet new people and share a common interest.

What do I need to do to register?
Below is a link to the registration page. Before you follow the link, we suggest you get some information ready. You will be asked to enter your name, address and email (which we will never share with other non-EarthTrek parties, nor will it be displayed on web pages). You will be asked to enter your science background, and even the EarthTrekker name of the person who introduced you to EarthTrek (if that happened).
You will need to enter your home location as a latitude/longitude in the format N/S XX.XXX E/W XXX.XXX. Use your GPS unit to obtain this location data. You will also need to pick a unique EarthTrekker name and a password.
You also have the option of entering another set of coordinates. These are if you are travelling and away from your home location for a extended period and want to be involved in a project that collects information from your current location. For now, you can leave these blank.
Before you are asked for this information you will be asked to agree to two legal documents - a participant agreement (...see now) and liability document (...see now). Please read these and check on the Agree boxes to register.
